Trump's Business Sought to Bring In Nearly 200 Workers on Visas in 2025

Donald Trump’s corporate entity accelerated its hiring of foreign workers on temporary visas this period, while his administration was placing obstacles for other businesses wanting to do the same, a report published recently stated.

According to data from the federal labor department, the business sought to hire at least nearly 200 foreign workers in 2025 for short-term roles at the US president’s Mar-a-Lago resort, two golf clubs and his winery in Virginia.

The number of applications for temporary work visas covering staff including waitstaff, clerks, housekeepers, culinary employees and agricultural laborers was the record filed by the organization, and up from over 120 in 2021, when his presidency concluded.

It was also the fifth instance in a decade that Trump had sought to hire over a hundred foreign employees for seasonal jobs at Mar-a-Lago, according to labor statistics.

The revelation comes amid a tightening on legal immigration by his government that has included the introduction of a $100,000 fee on skilled worker visas; extra scrutiny of the activities of the millions of people who already hold American work permits; and restrictive new rules for international scholars and reporters.

Overall, the Trump Organization sought to hire over 560 overseas workers over the period Trump has been in the White House, from 2017 to 2021 and during 2025.

Notably, Trump was questioned by certain in the GOP this week for remarks justifying the necessity for overseas employees when a business was unable to find people with “particular skills” to fill particular roles.

“You can’t just say a nation is entering, going to invest $10bn to build a plant, and going to take people off an jobless roster who have been unemployed in years, and they’re going to start making their missiles. It doesn’t work that effectively,” he stated to a host after she suggested that foreign workers undercut the pay of American employees.

The White House refused a request for response, and the business did not provide an answer to an inquiry.
