Comedian and author David Walliams dropped by longtime publisher.

David Walliams

Prolific children's author and TV personality David Walliams is no longer with his longtime publishing house, according to an announcement.

A spokesman for the firm commented: "Following a thorough review, and under the leadership of its new CEO, HarperCollins UK has chosen to cease publishing additional books by David Walliams."

It has been reported that the conclusion was made after an inquiry regarding allegations of conduct deemed unsuitable directed at young women.

The firm has not elaborated on the specific rationale behind the move, stating: "We refrain from speaking about internal matters."

A Prolific Publishing History

Walliams ranks among Britain's most prolific writers for young readers, with sales exceeding more than 60 million copies globally in 55 languages.

His first children's book, *The Boy in the Dress*, was published by HarperCollins back in 2008.

A number of his works, such as *Gangsta Granny* and *Billionaire Boy*, have subsequently been turned into TV movies.

His bibliography includes over four dozen titles altogether, which features a holiday title named *Santa & Son*, which was released through HarperCollins in October.

From Screen to Page

He first rose to fame on the television comedy show *Little Britain* and has additionally received National Television Awards for his duties as an arbiter on *Britain's Got Talent*.

He was awarded an OBE several years ago for his services to charity and the arts.

This move occurs subsequent to the naming of Kate Elton as HarperCollins UK's new chief executive in October.
